Our journey began in 2001, when we purchased our first caravan at Butlins Skegness, Lincolnshire, while living in Northamptonshire. Originally a holiday home for ourselves, we soon discovered strong demand for rentals. Encouraged by its success, we added a second and third caravan, each fully booked, eventually managing six caravans at Butlins Skegness. This early experience sparked our passion for creating memorable stays for our guests.
As the business grew, we faced the decision to stay in our home or move closer to Butlins. Using the profit from selling our home, we expanded to 15 caravans of our own and managed another 15 for other owners. This success also allowed us to complete The Paddock, which would later play a central role in our lives and to this day, it continues to do so.
By 2006, we were ready for a new challenge and we became foster carers. Over 17 years, our home welcomed children from all walks of life, teaching us as much as we taught them—about patience, resilience, and the meaning of family. This period of our lives showed us that joy and happiness can be found in every circumstance.
By 2024, our fostering journey had come to an end. Retirement wasn’t for us, so we decided to rent out The Paddock as a holiday home, which quickly proved hugely successful. With The Paddock thriving and our Butlins caravan upgraded to The Linwood in February 2025, we went decided to purchase Sandy Lodge in April 2025—a charming property just steps from the beach, adored by guests of all ages for its stunning sea views and surrounding area.
Between our holiday properties, we believe we have something for everyone—from tranquil retreats to lively caravan experiences—while maintaining one priority: ensuring our guests have fun and thoroughly enjoy every moment of their stay with us.
We are now exploring another property to add to our growing Lincolnshire Seaside Retreats holiday portfolio, offering more families and friends a place to enjoy.
Looking back, every step—from running caravans at Butlins, to fostering, to creating holiday homes—has shaped how we do things today. Each property is designed to offer relaxing, memorable stays. Whether it’s children running around The Paddock, families enjoying The Linwood, or guests unwinding at Sandy Lodge, our goal remains the same: to make every stay stress-free, fun, and unforgettable.
